Happy Tune in Tuesday! This week we celebrate new releases from Conway the Machine, Young Thug, AJ Tracey, and Gotham, a duo made up of Talib Kweli and Diamond D.
Conway the Machine ~ La Maquina
Conway’s back with tighter production and harsher bars. Staking his claim as the lyrical member of Griselda, “La Maquina” proves Conway to be the “GOAT, the grimiest of all time.”
Young Thug & Young Stoner Life ~ Slime Language 2
The second iteration of Slime Language is an improvement over the first, with big-name features in Travis Scott, Drake, and Lil Uzi Vert. But the biggest highlights of the album come with lesser-acclaimed features, including “Came Out” with Lil Keed and Take it to Trial with Yak Gotta.
AJ Tracey ~ Flu Game
Invoking Michael Jordan, AJ Tracey delivered if what you’re looking for are trap/grime bangers.
Gotham (Talib Kweli & Diamond D) ~ Gotham
Acknowledging the fact that Kweli’s been a bully on social media as of late, it’s still exciting whenever he drops music. Linking up with legendary hip-hop figure Diamond D, this “Gotham” project is everything old-heads have been missing out on as of late — the album is jam-packed with bars and a lack of unnecessary materialism.
